It was with sadness that we learned of the passing last week of Peter Pearson at the age of 94.
Peter served as a tenor and later bass Lay Clerk from 1959 to 1987. He will be remembered by many ex-choristers as ‘camp master’ at the annual summer choir camps held in Luccombe.
I shall be happy to forward any tributes to his widow, Kay (via firstname.lastname@example.org).
A more extended tribute will be included in the next issue of Alban Notes.
Here is the St Albans Ex-Choristers Association Yearbook 2021 featuring a tribute to Peter Hurford.
THE TRINITY CONSORT
The Trinity Consort, a group of young professional singers from Cambridge (including former Abbey Girl Chorister and recently elected committee member of the ECA, Nina Vinther), are delighted to be sharing a programme of motets and madrigals traversing five centuries. The music will range from the polyphony of Tallis and Byrd to the rich harmonic palettes of Harris and Parry.
